Itinerary

08:00 – 09:00: Pick-Up and Drive to Fumba Village

Our driver will collect you from your accommodation in Zanzibar Town or nearby areas. Enjoy the drive to the fishing village of Fumba, located on the southwest coast of the island. During this journey, our guide will give you a short briefing about the day’s schedule.

09:00 – 10:00: Board the Traditional Dhow and Set Sail

Upon arriving in Fumba, you will meet the boat crew and board a traditional wooden dhow.

We begin sailing through Zanzibar’s calm waters, keeping an eye out for dolphins that often swim alongside the boat. The gentle sea breeze and stunning views set the tone for a relaxing day.

10:00 – 12:30: Snorkeling and Sandbank Exploration

Our first stop is a sandbank or coral reef area where you can snorkel among colorful fish and beautiful corals.

Snorkeling gear is provided, and our guides will help you have a safe and fun experience. Feel free to bask in the sun on the sandbank or wade in the shallow waters before we move on.

12:30 – 13:30: Seafood Lunch and Relaxation

We will anchor near a small island or sandbank, where the crew will prepare a delicious seafood feast.

Expect fresh fish, prawns, and lobster, along with vegetarian options, seasonal fruit, and soft drinks. This open-air lunch offers a unique chance to enjoy the ocean scenery and chat with fellow travelers.

13:30 – 15:00: Further Exploration and Leisure

After lunch, there is time for more snorkeling or simply relaxing on the beach. You might spot more dolphins or even sea turtles if you’re lucky.

15:00 – 16:00: Mangrove Forest Visit and Return Sail

Before heading back, we often make a brief stop in a mangrove forest. You can take a short walk among these fascinating trees, which protect the coastline and provide a habitat for many birds and marine species. Then, we sail back to Fumba, enjoying the late afternoon sun and ocean views.

16:00 – 17:00: Drive Back to Your Hotel

Once we reach Fumba, our driver will be ready to take you back to your accommodation. You’ll have plenty of time to relax and reflect on the day’s experiences.
